Narrative:
My aircraft is based at pgv. Just after becoming airborne on runway 26; approximately mid-field where it intersects with runway 2; I witnessed another aircraft departing on runway 2; airborne at about 40-50 feet. It passed over my aircraft with a vertical separation of 20-30 feet. As this was occurring; I throttled back landed on the remaining runway.prior to my departing; I had been holding short of runway 26 and monitoring the unicom frequency as two aircraft landed and exited this runway (the winds were light and southwesterly). I had been on frequency for 10-15 minutes but heard no calls from any other aircraft [other] than the two aircraft landing on runway 26. I announced departure on runway 26; but no radio calls from the aircraft departing on runway 2 were heard. I subsequently learned that the other aircraft was transient; and on further investigation; was on an IFR flight plan. There is a 'blind spot' at this field where thresholds of runways 26 and 2 are not visible from either end. At no time were there any calls from the other aircraft announcing intention to depart on runway 2. I am certain of this.

Title: A pilot lifted off CTAF airport PGV Runway 26 VFR and had near miss with an IFR aircraft departing Runway 2 which did not use the AIM suggested CTAF position reports. Runway 2 and 26 thresholds are not visible from each others' ends.
