Narrative:
After landing, ramp personnel were unable to open the main cabin door. There was a company mechanic riding on board who thought that he might be able to open the door from the inside. He worked on it for 15-20 mins and was having no success, so we deplaned the passenger over the left wing without further incident. My feeling on how this happened is that the ramp personnel closing the door at our departure time failed to get the door retaining straps completely out of the way of the door when they closed it (it is an airstair type). This meant that the door was not fully aligned, causing them to use a lot of force to latch the door. This broke a link pin in the door so that when the handle was opened the pins would not retract into the door. These doors are heavy and very awkward to close. Our flight was late in departing and everyone was in a hurry to get the flight out.

Title: UNABLE TO DEPLANE PASSENGERS ACCOUNT PASSENGER DOOR JAMMED. DEPLANED PASSENGERS THROUGH WINDOW AND OVER LEFT WING.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG, RAMP PERSONNEL WERE UNABLE TO OPEN THE MAIN CABIN DOOR. THERE WAS A COMPANY MECHANIC RIDING ON BOARD WHO THOUGHT THAT HE MIGHT BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. HE WORKED ON IT FOR 15-20 MINS AND WAS HAVING NO SUCCESS, SO WE DEPLANED THE PAX OVER THE LEFT WING WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MY FEELING ON HOW THIS HAPPENED IS THAT THE RAMP PERSONNEL CLOSING THE DOOR AT OUR DEP TIME FAILED TO GET THE DOOR RETAINING STRAPS COMPLETELY OUT OF THE WAY OF THE DOOR WHEN THEY CLOSED IT (IT IS AN AIRSTAIR TYPE). THIS MEANT THAT THE DOOR WAS NOT FULLY ALIGNED, CAUSING THEM TO USE A LOT OF FORCE TO LATCH THE DOOR. THIS BROKE A LINK PIN IN THE DOOR SO THAT WHEN THE HANDLE WAS OPENED THE PINS WOULD NOT RETRACT INTO THE DOOR. THESE DOORS ARE HEAVY AND VERY AWKWARD TO CLOSE. OUR FLT WAS LATE IN DEPARTING AND EVERYONE WAS IN A HURRY TO GET THE FLT OUT.
