At cruise passing trm we had a discontinuity in [the] FMC routing which resulted in a slight course deviation. ATC issued a turn due to possibly nearing a restricted area. Shortly after ATC cleared us direct nwn.be aware of distractions by gate personnel during prefight route check. Better crew monitoring and crew coordination in the future.
