Narrative:
Landed 22L, cleared at hi-speed J. Instructed to taxi via Z and hold short of F. As I approached runway 22R, I asked local if he wanted us to hold short of 22R. His response was to hold short of foxtrot. I held short of 22R knowing that it was active. The purpose of this report is to point out that taxiway F is hard to see on that (southeast) side of 22R, and I should have been explicitly told to hold short of 22R. After one takeoff on 22R, I was told to cross 22R and proceed on F, call ground 121.9. WX was nasty (fog and rain) and taxi instructions were, in my opinion, spurious. Reference jfk airport diagram P 20-9 foxtrot intersection with zulu. My point is the possibility of taxiing onto runway 22R inadvertently.

Title: MLG FLT CREW CLEARED HOLD SHORT OF TXWY F. REPORTER PROPERLY HELD SHORT OF ACTIVE RWY 22.
Narrative: LANDED 22L, CLRED AT HI-SPEED J. INSTRUCTED TO TAXI VIA Z AND HOLD SHORT OF F. AS I APCHED RWY 22R, I ASKED LOCAL IF HE WANTED US TO HOLD SHORT OF 22R. HIS RESPONSE WAS TO HOLD SHORT OF FOXTROT. I HELD SHORT OF 22R KNOWING THAT IT WAS ACTIVE. THE PURPOSE OF THIS REPORT IS TO POINT OUT THAT TXWY F IS HARD TO SEE ON THAT (SE) SIDE OF 22R, AND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXPLICITLY TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF 22R. AFTER ONE TKOF ON 22R, I WAS TOLD TO CROSS 22R AND PROCEED ON F, CALL GND 121.9. WX WAS NASTY (FOG AND RAIN) AND TAXI INSTRUCTIONS WERE, IN MY OPINION, SPURIOUS.
