Narrative:
We taxied to runway 23R and were holding on parallel taxiway bravo, waiting for landing traffic. We sat there for about 4 or 5 mins because we were holding short and we were all done with checklists. I told the tower, 'air carrier X can take an immediate.' somebody was about 100' in the air crossing the threshold. The controller cleared us into position and told us to be prepared for immediate. We put ourselves right into position and we were on the end of the runway ready to go before air carrier Y had put his nose wheel on the ground. No sooner did the airplane that had landed in front of us start to clear at a high speed than the controller sent air carrier Z around. What bothered me was that he said, 'air carrier X, continue holding short.' I immediately corrected him and said, 'negative, we are in position--that was the clearance you gave us, and that's where we are.' he said, 'roger, continue holding.' I don't want them saying we taxied into position contrary to our clearance, and that's the reason they sent air carrier Z around, because that's not true.

Title: CLOSE PROX ACR-LGT IN POSITION FOR TKOF AND ACR-LGT ON SHORT FINAL.
Narrative: WE TAXIED TO RWY 23R AND WERE HOLDING ON PARALLEL TXWY BRAVO, WAITING FOR LNDG TFC. WE SAT THERE FOR ABOUT 4 OR 5 MINS BECAUSE WE WERE HOLDING SHORT AND WE WERE ALL DONE WITH CHKLISTS. I TOLD THE TWR, 'ACR X CAN TAKE AN IMMEDIATE.' SOMEBODY WAS ABOUT 100' IN THE AIR XING THE THRESHOLD. THE CTLR CLRED US INTO POS AND TOLD US TO BE PREPARED FOR IMMEDIATE. WE PUT OURSELVES RIGHT INTO POS AND WE WERE ON THE END OF THE RWY READY TO GO BEFORE ACR Y HAD PUT HIS NOSE WHEEL ON THE GND. NO SOONER DID THE AIRPLANE THAT HAD LANDED IN FRONT OF US START TO CLR AT A HIGH SPD THAN THE CTLR SENT ACR Z AROUND. WHAT BOTHERED ME WAS THAT HE SAID, 'ACR X, CONTINUE HOLDING SHORT.' I IMMEDIATELY CORRECTED HIM AND SAID, 'NEGATIVE, WE ARE IN POS--THAT WAS THE CLRNC YOU GAVE US, AND THAT'S WHERE WE ARE.' HE SAID, 'ROGER, CONTINUE HOLDING.' I DON'T WANT THEM SAYING WE TAXIED INTO POS CONTRARY TO OUR CLRNC, AND THAT'S THE REASON THEY SENT ACR Z AROUND, BECAUSE THAT'S NOT TRUE.
