Narrative:
Normal take off and departure. Three miles past the atlantic coast line the right engine chip detector light came on. Turned back toward [departure] airport. Shortly thereafter we experienced abnormal engine vibration. Caged the engine and feathered the propeller. Clearance received for approach and landing. Dropped the landing gear on short final (no flaps) and landed. Exited the runway; stopped and shut down the left engine. Towed to the ramp. Tower dispatched a fire truck to meet the aircraft on landing.
