Narrative:
Three children (elementary school age) and their mother were given seat assignments in the emergency exit row. Flight deck requested a customer service agent to reseat the family due to far violation (121.585). When I asked the customer service agent whether or not the boarding pass reader beeped (due to passengers seated in the exit row seats) as the children presented their boarding pass; he stated that it did beep; but the agents just don't have the time to address the far violation.
