Narrative:
On approach to orf; aircraft slowed to 180 so that aircraft could get configured for approach and landing into orf. A few miles from OM controller asked aircrafts airspeed. Crew responded 180 knots. Controller seemed annoyed and instructed crew to maintain 180; which they did to the outer marker as ordered by ATC.if the aircraft had maintained the maximum speed of 250 to the outer marker; they would have been unable to safely configure the aircraft for landing and would have put the passengers and crew at risk. Moreover; they would have been operating the aircraft in a reckless manner which is not only immoral but illegal as well.
