Narrative:
We took off with LNAV selected and our first waypoint being stclr on the tecky two departure. Before 1;000 feet; we experienced wake turbulence from the aircraft that departed in front of us. At 1;000 feet I called for setting speed and flaps up. I was hand flying and following the command bar guidance which started initiating a right turn. My first officer (first officer) set the speed and told me he thought I was turning too early. Looking at the display (although stclr was in front of us) the magenta line looked like it was cutting us inside of it. I said it looks like its leading the waypoint. My first officer pointed out it's a flyover waypoint. We were already in a turn at that point; and then the FMC auto sequenced and it had us heading to vlree which is three points down the line on the SID. ATC questioned our early turn. Since we had lost our initial point of stclr and already in the turn we asked for vectors and received a new clearance of a heading and altitude. ATC then gave us a clearance of tecky and to resume the departure. We did - and flew to destination without further incident.I was too dependent on the automation and let the FMC take me into that turn early. I needed to be more situationally aware of my position and was too distracted also by a little wake turbulence.

Title: A B737-700 flight crew reported a track deviation on departure from SJC when the FMC commanded an early turn and then dumped some waypoints. The Captain mentioned he was distracted after encountering wake turbulence from the previous departure.
