Switched to albany tower; who received verbal confirmation from helicopter that it had us visual. After starting down glide path at 2000 feet MSL with flaps 20/gear down; received an RA 'monitor vertical speed' to stop descent. Complied with RA; leveled off; visually acquired helicopter at 10:00. Helicopter passed beneath us within 300 feet. Received second RA to 'monitor vertical speed'; then helicopter was clear. At this point; aircraft was well above glide path. Resumed descent on approach; re-intercepted glidepath and stable conditions by 500 feet AGL.helicopter did not maintain visual separation from approach corridor as directed by ATC.
