Narrative:

I purchased 1/2 of an aircraft from the owner. As specified in FAA regulations, we sent original registration to FAA and kept 'pink slip' as temporary registration. I then took the aircraft to the bahamas for a vacation, and was informed upon return that flight outside us is illegal on a pink slip. Upon later research, this law went into effect 9/mon/89. The pink slip made no mention about restrictions, and I have not received any updates from FAA pertaining to this regulation change. Suggest FAA synchronize their paperwork so that when a law changes, all relevant paperwork is updated.
