Narrative:
Lifeguard flight from billings, mt, to allegheny, PA, with fuel stop at roc, mn. Route of flight was billings (patient was actually picked up at big timber mountain), J16, sioux falls, direct rochester. Over dupree VORTAC our course changed from inbound on 271 degree right to outbnd on the 100 degree right. Prior to reaching dupree, I asked center for a frequency change to check on WX at rochester. Simply put, I got busy and didn't change course to the 100 degree right until 17 mi east of dupree. Once I realized my mistake, I correct immediately and got back on course. I let center know I was back on frequency and nothing was ever said by anybody.
