Narrative:

On the morning of 12/tue/89, climbing out of jfk en route to sju with clearance to FL200, first officer flying, numerous problems occurred beginning almost immediately after contacting departure control. These included #2 gen failure, #1 high pressure bleed fault, loss of all outboard fuel pumps on inner and outer tanks, first officer window heat fault, and pitch trim fault. While accomplishing emergency checklists and ECAM procedures, the normal 18000' checklist, including resetting altimeters to 29.92, was delayed. While approaching clearance altitude of FL200, first officer's EFIS display was lost, and at the same time, pitch trim faulted, causing #2 autoplt to disengage. First officer reset pitch trim and selected autoplt #1 while receiving ATC call of crossing traffic and leveling at FL200. The captain was still accomplishing checklist procedures to reinstated systems where possible. First officer called traffic in sight and ATC asked altitude, to which first officer replied 'level 200.' ATC again questioned altitude and first officer replied, 'level 200' again. At this time another controller came on and requested altitude. Again, first officer replied, 'level 200.' the controller at this time indicated she showed us 300' high. An immediate descent was initiated west/O question, and while in descent first officer discovered altimeters were set improperly, causing differential. While descending, ATC called traffic clear and instructed us to 'climb now to FL230.' from this point, all checklists, emergency and normal, were completed and flight continued to sju.

Title: WDB ACFT IN CLIMB STOPPED AT FL200. EXCEEDED ALT BY 300'.

Narrative: ON THE MORNING OF 12/TUE/89, CLBING OUT OF JFK ENRTE TO SJU WITH CLRNC TO FL200, F/O FLYING, NUMEROUS PROBS OCCURRED BEGINNING ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER CONTACTING DEP CTL. THESE INCLUDED #2 GEN FAILURE, #1 HIGH PRESSURE BLEED FAULT, LOSS OF ALL OUTBOARD FUEL PUMPS ON INNER AND OUTER TANKS, F/O WINDOW HEAT FAULT, AND PITCH TRIM FAULT. WHILE ACCOMPLISHING EMER CHKLISTS AND ECAM PROCS, THE NORMAL 18000' CHKLIST, INCLUDING RESETTING ALTIMETERS TO 29.92, WAS DELAYED. WHILE APCHING CLRNC ALT OF FL200, F/O'S EFIS DISPLAY WAS LOST, AND AT THE SAME TIME, PITCH TRIM FAULTED, CAUSING #2 AUTOPLT TO DISENGAGE. F/O RESET PITCH TRIM AND SELECTED AUTOPLT #1 WHILE RECEIVING ATC CALL OF XING TFC AND LEVELING AT FL200. THE CAPT WAS STILL ACCOMPLISHING CHKLIST PROCS TO REINSTATED SYSTEMS WHERE POSSIBLE. F/O CALLED TFC IN SIGHT AND ATC ASKED ALT, TO WHICH F/O REPLIED 'LEVEL 200.' ATC AGAIN QUESTIONED ALT AND F/O REPLIED, 'LEVEL 200' AGAIN. AT THIS TIME ANOTHER CTLR CAME ON AND REQUESTED ALT. AGAIN, F/O REPLIED, 'LEVEL 200.' THE CTLR AT THIS TIME INDICATED SHE SHOWED US 300' HIGH. AN IMMEDIATE DSCNT WAS INITIATED W/O QUESTION, AND WHILE IN DSCNT F/O DISCOVERED ALTIMETERS WERE SET IMPROPERLY, CAUSING DIFFERENTIAL. WHILE DSNDING, ATC CALLED TFC CLR AND INSTRUCTED US TO 'CLB NOW TO FL230.' FROM THIS POINT, ALL CHKLISTS, EMER AND NORMAL, WERE COMPLETED AND FLT CONTINUED TO SJU.
