Narrative:
Aircrew turned on course prior to reaching obstacle departure procedure (odp) altitude (non-intentional; was a miss-step in crew's departure brief). Egpws sounded a terrain alert; crew increased climb rate aggressively. Crew never received a 'pull-up' message during maneuver; just the 'terrain' alert.continued climb to a safe altitude; continued flight. Evaluated what happened; crew believes they put so much attention on single-engine out procedures they neglected the regular odp procedure.
