Narrative:
Landing for the first time from the right seat; I realized I was low and slow on final. Added power to clear trees and reduced power again. Still low and slow; added power and airplane ballooned. Instead of correcting with the yoke; I reduced power. The airplane; already near stall speed; stalled and impacted the ground from about 30 feet in the air; resulting in a hard landing bending the right axle. No personal injuries.
