Narrative:
While climbing out through 4500; the first officer called out 'airspeed' and I immediately increased my climb rate and slowed to 250. Apparently; 250 was never entered into the box (L2) and neither one of us caught in on the preflight. The highest I saw was approximately 280 knots.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: First Officer failed to enter the 250 kt speed restriction during preflight. During climbout at 3010 feet the aircraft accelerated to 280 kts. The error was detected at 4500 feet and the aircraft slowed.
