Narrative:
When we received a takeoff clearance for 36C we were instructed 'cleared for takeoff fly runway heading'. Upon taking off and flying runway heading tower told us we should be turning to a 330 heading as it states on the departure procedure (ESTRR1). However according to the procedure we are to do a 330 or last assigned by ATC. We were last assigned runway heading so this is what we were doing.a simple miscommunication between flight crew and ATC.
