Narrative:
After gate arrival first officer (first officer) and I noticed door R1 had not been disarmed. I called on the interphone and #1 did not pick up. I then sent the first officer back. I then noticed on my ECAM (electronic centralized aircraft monitoring) that the door was disarmed. I called back and let them know door is showing disarmed and first officer tells me to make sure area outside R1 door is clear. I do that and then went back to see what is happening. Apparently the #1 flight attendant (flight attendant) instead of disarming the door opened the door. When the first officer went back he saw the flight attendant holding the door trying to prevent the door from opening any further. The door at this point was opened about 6 to 8 inches. First officer grabbed the door from flight attendant and he tried to close it. Door would not move and first officer was struggling to keep door in the position that it was in. At this point the flight attendant moves the disarming handle which gave me my ECAM indication of the door being disarmed. That is the point that I called back and said I had a disarmed indication on the ECAM. After clearing the R1 area I went back. I asked the first officer if there was any chance to close the door and he said there was no way. I told him to release the door. The slide then deployed.

Title: A Flight Attendant on an A319 inadvertently started to open door 1R before disarming the slide. The First Officer tried to assist; but they were unable to close the door and when it was released the slide deployed.
Narrative: After gate arrival FO (First Officer) and I noticed door R1 had not been disarmed. I called on the interphone and #1 did not pick up. I then sent the FO back. I then noticed on my ECAM (Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitoring) that the door was disarmed. I called back and let them know door is showing disarmed and FO tells me to make sure area outside R1 door is clear. I do that and then went back to see what is happening. Apparently the #1 FA (Flight Attendant) instead of disarming the door opened the door. When the FO went back he saw the FA holding the door trying to prevent the door from opening any further. The door at this point was opened about 6 to 8 inches. FO grabbed the door from FA and he tried to close it. Door would not move and FO was struggling to keep door in the position that it was in. At this point the FA moves the disarming handle which gave me my ECAM indication of the door being disarmed. That is the point that I called back and said I had a disarmed indication on the ECAM. After clearing the R1 area I went back. I asked the FO if there was any chance to close the door and he said there was no way. I told him to release the door. The slide then deployed.
