Narrative:
After landing; the local controller instructed me to turn right from runway 14 to runway 1 and contact ground control. After taxiing off runway 14 and on to runway 1 southbound; I contacted ground control and advised that I was back taxiing on runway 1 as per the instructions of the local controller and requested taxi clearance to [FBO]. The ground controller instructed me to taxi via alpha and bravo. I stated to the ground controller that this made no sense and requested an amended clearance. The controller stated that it made 'perfect sense' and explained to me the original routing. What she failed to understand is that when I received this original clearance; I was already passing taxiway alpha. It is not the first time I've experienced this tower giving clearances that doesn't work; I suspect; and many other pilots also suspect in their own experiences; that these controllers are simply not even looking out the tower cab window. I believe the ground controller erred in this situation. If she looked out the window; she would have known that there was no way I was able to make taxiway alpha without having to make a 180 degree turn back. I was given an amended clearance to taxi off runway 1 via bravo three instead.I requested the controller to save the tapes and that I would call them to discuss. Another controller jumped on the frequency; provided a telephone number so quickly and so angrily and stated that I can have all the discussion I want. I wasn't able to copy down the telephone number because it was given so abruptly and so fast. After returning to the ramp; I decided that it was not worth calling because I know these controllers and the supervisor at this tower will not do anything to make changes. I know this because of many years of past experience with providing feedback and only seeing the same nonsense; unprofessional behaviors; and controllers errors go without recourse or punishment.I'm submitting this report because I find this control tower to be dangerous.
