Narrative:
I arrived [on an IFR flight] and received fuel and added 2 qt of oil and filed a IFR plan for the return. I departed and received radar vectors from the tower and departure. At around 6;000 feet I had a very sudden and large power loss. I contacted departure and [requested a return to the field] with a subsequent safe landing. The shop that looked at it found the number 5 air intake line had come loose. They advised and repaired with normal performance restored.
