Narrative:
We were taxiing (at night) from the D-8 to runway 24L at E-8. I reviewed the taxi plan on the jepps chart with my first officer since I had not been back to lax since the runway 24L construction project began. I taxied slowly but still found it to be extremely difficult to get to 24L at E-8 from this direction due to poor taxiway line markings and confusing taxi lights at night. This is a serious night hazard that deserves immediate attention so we don't damage an aircraft; have an inadvertent taxiway excursion or (worse) a runway incursion. Also; I believe it would help if the jepps 10-7 page had an enlarged diagram showing this specific taxi area in better detail.
