Narrative:
EICAS system displayed 'recirc fan' status message; shortly followed by EICAS caution message 'smoke crew rest main'; shortly followed by call from flight attendants that they smelled a smoke like odor in the main deck crew rest compartment. After searching compartment no smoke could be seen; nor could its source be located. Compartment was evacuated and smoke odor dissipated. Shortly after; both the EICAS status and caution messages cleared on their own.decision was made to divert flight to [a nearby airport]. ATC and dispatch were notified; requesting crash/fire equipment to be standing by for landing.flight landed uneventfully.
