Narrative:
During cruise FL350 over charleston, wv noticed small fluctuations on right engine N1 and N2 gauges. Shortly thereafter, audible bang heard and felt from right engine. Right engine N2 read 10% (approximately) lower than left engine, with slightly higher egt reading also on right engine. Diverted to nashville, advising ATC and company dispatch. Checklists and plan of action discussed in case of engine failure. F/a's briefed on situation. 15 mi from nashville at 4000' MSL, right engine failed. Engine failure precautionary shutdown, single engine landing, and emergency landing checklists were accomplished on approach (declared emergency with bna approach control upon engine failure). Normal single engine landing.
