Narrative:
I was on a local flight from ksgr to [intended destination] I had requested flight following and was given a squawk code prior to departure from ksgr. I was instructed to remain clear of the class bravo airspace by the ksgr tower and then instructed to contact houston approach. Upon contacting houston approach I requested an altitude of 3;500 feet (which would have potentially taken me into class bravo airspace) and a direct route to [my intended destination] with flight following. I was cleared to 3;500 feet and given a few vectors then told to resume own navigation and was cleared direct to [my intended destination]. About half way to [my intended destination] my passenger was not feeling well so we decided to abort the flight and return to ksgr. I informed approach that we wanted to return to ksgr and was asked to make a right 180 degree turn and then cleared direct to ksgr at or below 3;000 feet the controller made a comment that I was 'right in the middle of the approach corridor to houston hobby' I do not think I actually breached the class bravo airspace without permission or without being vectored into it by approach however I do not remember actually getting formal permission to enter the airspace. The channel was busy and I may have missed it. I just wanted to be on the safe side in case I inadvertently misunderstood my clearance. At no time was I told by ATC that I was in violation of the airspace nor was I asked to contact anyone upon the conclusion of the flight. I returned back to ksgr without incident and terminated radar services with the ksgr tower.
