Narrative:
I was providing OJT instruction. Aircraft X reported a planned missed approach. The trainee cleared aircraft X to 'turn direct' or 'cleared direct' to a different IAF before radar identifying or climbing aircraft X to an altitude above the minimum IFR altitude (mia). Aircraft X was below the mia/MVA when direct clearance was issued.missed approach procedures may or may not be thoroughly taught/discussed in the training department. That radar service has been terminated; that radar identification and mode-C verification; and altitude assignment will need to be issued/verified.
