Narrative:
As we leveled off at FL230 ZOA stated we had been assigned FL220. The controller was in error. I've flown this route a number of times over the last few months, and our flight plan calls for FL290, but we're given FL220. When center assigned us FL230, I thought it was a little different, but surely reasonable. I read back FL230. The captain had set FL230 and that's what we climbed to. Next time I'm 'used to a route,' and something changes, I will challenge it.
