Narrative:

ILS approach was to runway 35L at den. WX was 3500' RVR, moderate snow (several inches accumulation). Wind 350 degrees, 7 KTS. Braking action 35L reported good. Aircraft weight for approach, 142000#. Approach speed was right on target (reference + 5). Captain called runway in sight at about 300' AGL. T/D was on centerline very near 1500' mark. Thrust reversers immediately deployed with about 85% N1 power. 80 KIAS reached no later than midfield. Captain assumed control and removed some of the reverse thrust. Supplemental information from acn 134528: the first officer had made the approach and landing, and at 80 KTS the captain took over control of the aircraft. The aircraft continued to decelerate as the captain stowed the thrust reversers. Continued information from acn 134402: at tower's request we were taxiing to end of runway. Approaching the end I thought we would be too fast to make the turn. Captain was having no response to braking, but neither second officer nor I had any knowledge of this. About 2 seconds before the end of the runway, F/east and I simultaneously said 'more reverse!' by this time it was too late for any physical assistance from me on the reversers. Thrust was not increased, and we went into the overrun. Transition to overrun was smooth; passenger thought we were at gate. Captain asked that they remain seated, I called tower. At this point the last 1500' of 35L was almost solid ice; braking action at end was now reported as nil. Supplemental information from acn 134531: after company maintenance and airport operations inspection, it was agreed with flight crew approval that a power back onto the runway would be attempted. This was done successfully. Normal taxi back to gate.

Title: ACR LGT SLIDES OFF END OF RWY AS IT ENCOUNTERS ICE COVERED SURFACE UNDER THE SNOW.

Narrative: ILS APCH WAS TO RWY 35L AT DEN. WX WAS 3500' RVR, MODERATE SNOW (SEVERAL INCHES ACCUMULATION). WIND 350 DEGS, 7 KTS. BRAKING ACTION 35L RPTED GOOD. ACFT WT FOR APCH, 142000#. APCH SPD WAS RIGHT ON TARGET (REF + 5). CAPT CALLED RWY IN SIGHT AT ABOUT 300' AGL. T/D WAS ON CENTERLINE VERY NEAR 1500' MARK. THRUST REVERSERS IMMEDIATELY DEPLOYED WITH ABOUT 85% N1 PWR. 80 KIAS REACHED NO LATER THAN MIDFIELD. CAPT ASSUMED CONTROL AND REMOVED SOME OF THE REVERSE THRUST. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 134528: THE F/O HAD MADE THE APCH AND LNDG, AND AT 80 KTS THE CAPT TOOK OVER CONTROL OF THE ACFT. THE ACFT CONTINUED TO DECELERATE AS THE CAPT STOWED THE THRUST REVERSERS. CONTINUED INFORMATION FROM ACN 134402: AT TWR'S REQUEST WE WERE TAXIING TO END OF RWY. APCHING THE END I THOUGHT WE WOULD BE TOO FAST TO MAKE THE TURN. CAPT WAS HAVING NO RESPONSE TO BRAKING, BUT NEITHER S/O NOR I HAD ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THIS. ABOUT 2 SECONDS BEFORE THE END OF THE RWY, F/E AND I SIMULTANEOUSLY SAID 'MORE REVERSE!' BY THIS TIME IT WAS TOO LATE FOR ANY PHYSICAL ASSISTANCE FROM ME ON THE REVERSERS. THRUST WAS NOT INCREASED, AND WE WENT INTO THE OVERRUN. TRANSITION TO OVERRUN WAS SMOOTH; PAX THOUGHT WE WERE AT GATE. CAPT ASKED THAT THEY REMAIN SEATED, I CALLED TWR. AT THIS POINT THE LAST 1500' OF 35L WAS ALMOST SOLID ICE; BRAKING ACTION AT END WAS NOW RPTED AS NIL. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 134531: AFTER COMPANY MAINT AND ARPT OPS INSPECTION, IT WAS AGREED WITH FLT CREW APPROVAL THAT A PWR BACK ONTO THE RWY WOULD BE ATTEMPTED. THIS WAS DONE SUCCESSFULLY. NORMAL TAXI BACK TO GATE.
