Narrative:

Departed sat for lancaster, PA. ZHU cleared us to climb unrestricted to FL370 (out of low 20's). Acknowledged and set altitude alerter to FL370. Shortly after we were handed off to a new sector (ZHU 134.35). Reported out of (I think) FL280, climbing to FL370. Controller acknowledged. Out of FL334 ZHU called, 'maintain 330, you were only cleared to 330, turn right 30 degrees.' he then gave air carrier Y a turn of 30 degrees. We stated again that we had been cleared to FL370, but would descend to FL330. Controller stated he would check with previous sector. We recall no amended altitude clearance limit of FL300, nor do we believe there was any given to us. We both clearly remember being cleared to FL370 be previous sector. (We had been cleared direct luf VOR, also.) it seems to me there may by a communication problem between the 2 center sectors, and apparently our initial call-in, 'climbing to 370,' never registered with this controller.

Title: CONFUSION ON THE PART OF ARTCC RADAR CTLR ABOUT ALT THAT CORPORATE LTT IS CLEARED TO RESULTS IN LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION.

Narrative: DEPARTED SAT FOR LANCASTER, PA. ZHU CLRED US TO CLB UNRESTRICTED TO FL370 (OUT OF LOW 20'S). ACKNOWLEDGED AND SET ALT ALERTER TO FL370. SHORTLY AFTER WE WERE HANDED OFF TO A NEW SECTOR (ZHU 134.35). RPTED OUT OF (I THINK) FL280, CLBING TO FL370. CTLR ACKNOWLEDGED. OUT OF FL334 ZHU CALLED, 'MAINTAIN 330, YOU WERE ONLY CLRED TO 330, TURN RIGHT 30 DEGS.' HE THEN GAVE ACR Y A TURN OF 30 DEGS. WE STATED AGAIN THAT WE HAD BEEN CLRED TO FL370, BUT WOULD DSND TO FL330. CTLR STATED HE WOULD CHK WITH PREVIOUS SECTOR. WE RECALL NO AMENDED ALT CLRNC LIMIT OF FL300, NOR DO WE BELIEVE THERE WAS ANY GIVEN TO US. WE BOTH CLEARLY REMEMBER BEING CLRED TO FL370 BE PREVIOUS SECTOR. (WE HAD BEEN CLRED DIRECT LUF VOR, ALSO.) IT SEEMS TO ME THERE MAY BY A COM PROB BTWN THE 2 CENTER SECTORS, AND APPARENTLY OUR INITIAL CALL-IN, 'CLBING TO 370,' NEVER REGISTERED WITH THIS CTLR.
