Narrative:
On climb out through FL180 while performing cockpit duties; [I] noticed fuel system synoptic was not indicating properly. No indication of fuel valves position and no flow bar to left engine. Right side had flow bar with no valve position indication. Concerned whether fuel system was in proper operating configuration. Decided to return to [departure airport].
