Narrative:

I was cruising at 3500' on a routine traffic watch flight when I suddenly lost power and made an emergency landing on I-15 southbound. Due to the combination of atmospheric conditions and low power setting, I was operating at 2100 RPM. I feel that I encountered carburetor icing. I will in the future use carburetor heat at least every 15 mins as a precautionary measure, rather than wait for detectable signs of carburetor icing.
