Narrative:

Shortly after reaching cruise altitude, x-feed operations were begun. Approximately 20 mins into x-feed operations it was observed that #3 tank qty was increasing while 2R qty was decreasing faster than 2L. Maximum differential between 2L and 2R was approximately 4500#. In accordance with flight handbook directives, x-feed operations were terminated. This resulted in #3 engine momentarily decreasing to idle power. Engine power returned to normal after 20 seconds. Immediate clearance back to jfk was obtained, and a satisfactory precautionary landing accomplished.
