Narrative:
I am working local control in VFR tower. Runway 21 is active with an small aircraft and another small aircraft making touch and goes. I receive an IFR inbound strip on an small transport on runway 21 estimating airport in 5 min. 3 min go by and I wonder why I'm not talking to the IFR inbound yet. Just then, the approach controller calls on the conference line, 'I forgot to switch him, he's on a 2 mi final.' I immediately had the small aircraft execute a go-around on a 1/4 mi final. I picked up the small transport on a 1 mi final when I first talked to him. I gave the small transport clearance to land, issue traffic on the small aircraft executing a go-around, and then the numbers. By the time I finished the transmission, the small transport was over the numbers and barely had separation with the small aircraft. Recommend a d-brite so we can at least see these things when approach doesn't do their job. This scenario is similar to other reoccurring problems with approach control not adhering to LOA's or using their radar correctly.

Title: IFR ACFT ON SHORT APCH CAME IN CLOSE PROX TO ANOTHER ACFT ALSO LNDG.
Narrative: I AM WORKING LCL CTL IN VFR TWR. RWY 21 IS ACTIVE WITH AN SMA AND ANOTHER SMA MAKING TOUCH AND GOES. I RECEIVE AN IFR INBND STRIP ON AN SMT ON RWY 21 ESTIMATING ARPT IN 5 MIN. 3 MIN GO BY AND I WONDER WHY I'M NOT TALKING TO THE IFR INBND YET. JUST THEN, THE APCH CTLR CALLS ON THE CONFERENCE LINE, 'I FORGOT TO SWITCH HIM, HE'S ON A 2 MI FINAL.' I IMMEDIATELY HAD THE SMA EXECUTE A GO-AROUND ON A 1/4 MI FINAL. I PICKED UP THE SMT ON A 1 MI FINAL WHEN I FIRST TALKED TO HIM. I GAVE THE SMT CLRNC TO LAND, ISSUE TFC ON THE SMA EXECUTING A GO-AROUND, AND THEN THE NUMBERS. BY THE TIME I FINISHED THE XMISSION, THE SMT WAS OVER THE NUMBERS AND BARELY HAD SEPARATION WITH THE SMA. RECOMMEND A D-BRITE SO WE CAN AT LEAST SEE THESE THINGS WHEN APCH DOESN'T DO THEIR JOB. THIS SCENARIO IS SIMILAR TO OTHER REOCCURRING PROBLEMS WITH APCH CTL NOT ADHERING TO LOA'S OR USING THEIR RADAR CORRECTLY.
