Narrative:
Cherry point (nkt) handed aircraft X to me climbing going northbound. He needed to deviate to the right for weather. I called nkt to let them know and thankfully he said; reference R5314 and phelps that was ok. We were not showing either piece of airspace active and if nkt would not have reminded me to keep aircraft X clear of the active airspace; it could have been a problem. I just received a safety briefing the day before about this very issue. Military airspace being active and the controller working the sector not knowing. This was the 4th occurrence in about 24 hours after the briefing. Guess the briefing isn't working.
Original NASA ASRS Text
