Narrative:

We were en route from santa ana, ca to bullhead city, az, in an small aircraft--the owner in the right seat, and I in the left. The owner was flying the aircraft and it was decided to land on a paved road (no cars in sight for miles, desolate), as he had to relieve himself badly. He landed the aircraft, exited and returned. During the takeoff roll, at about 40-45 mps, we observed a veh appearing on the road in the distance. The owner pilot seemed startled and abruptly prematurely pulled back on the yoke, lifting the aircraft off. It then mushed back down onto the road shoulder hitting a bush with the right main gear, which was separated from the wing. The aircraft skidded to a stop with damage done to the bottom of the right wing, right landing gear. The PIC shut off the engine and we exited, uninjured. A normal takeoff could have been accomplished had the yoke not been prematurely pulled back, because of the veh (tour ranger). Although the incident was far from any civilization, we probably shouldn't have landed on the road.

Title: PLT OF SMA ON TKOF FROM HIGHWAY IS STARTLED BY THE SUDDEN APPEARANCE OF A VEHICLE. PLT LOOSES CONTROL AND DAMAGES ACFT.

Narrative: WE WERE ENRTE FROM SANTA ANA, CA TO BULLHEAD CITY, AZ, IN AN SMA--THE OWNER IN THE RIGHT SEAT, AND I IN THE LEFT. THE OWNER WAS FLYING THE ACFT AND IT WAS DECIDED TO LAND ON A PAVED ROAD (NO CARS IN SIGHT FOR MILES, DESOLATE), AS HE HAD TO RELIEVE HIMSELF BADLY. HE LANDED THE ACFT, EXITED AND RETURNED. DURING THE TKOF ROLL, AT ABOUT 40-45 MPS, WE OBSERVED A VEH APPEARING ON THE ROAD IN THE DISTANCE. THE OWNER PLT SEEMED STARTLED AND ABRUPTLY PREMATURELY PULLED BACK ON THE YOKE, LIFTING THE ACFT OFF. IT THEN MUSHED BACK DOWN ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER HITTING A BUSH WITH THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR, WHICH WAS SEPARATED FROM THE WING. THE ACFT SKIDDED TO A STOP WITH DAMAGE DONE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE RIGHT WING, RIGHT LNDG GEAR. THE PIC SHUT OFF THE ENG AND WE EXITED, UNINJURED. A NORMAL TKOF COULD HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED HAD THE YOKE NOT BEEN PREMATURELY PULLED BACK, BECAUSE OF THE VEH (TOUR RANGER). ALTHOUGH THE INCIDENT WAS FAR FROM ANY CIVILIZATION, WE PROBABLY SHOULDN'T HAVE LANDED ON THE ROAD.
