Narrative:
I was training a controller on local control. An large transport was on an ILS to runway 31R, and an light transport was put on a visibility by the approach controller after he crossed the parallel approach course which he (light transport) was supposed to be on for a visibility approach. Approach claimed the light transport was utilizing visibility sep with the large transport, even though he was at that time 1/2 mi in front of and 300' below him. The light transport was given a heading out of the arrival corridor and was given a visibility approach to land with no further incident.

Title: ATX WENT THROUGH FINAL APCH COURSE AND ENTERED THE FINAL APCH COURSE FOR THE PARALLEL RWY WHILE ANOTHER ACFT WAS IN CLOSE PROX.
Narrative: I WAS TRNING A CTLR ON LCL CTL. AN LGT WAS ON AN ILS TO RWY 31R, AND AN LTT WAS PUT ON A VIS BY THE APCH CTLR AFTER HE CROSSED THE PARALLEL APCH COURSE WHICH HE (LTT) WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON FOR A VIS APCH. APCH CLAIMED THE LTT WAS UTILIZING VIS SEP WITH THE LGT, EVEN THOUGH HE WAS AT THAT TIME 1/2 MI IN FRONT OF AND 300' BELOW HIM. THE LTT WAS GIVEN A HDG OUT OF THE ARR CORRIDOR AND WAS GIVEN A VIS APCH TO LAND WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT.
