Narrative:
The flight was in the local area. While doing a touch and go at rocky mount-wilson (rwi) airport, I allowed myself to almost land without lowering the landing gear. I was close enough to the ground that I received propeller damage and some belly antenna damage. I pulled up, added power, and made a normal go around. The next time around, I made a normal landing to a full stop, and inspected for damage. The damage was isolated to the propeller and antennas. There was absolutely no airframe damage or any personal injuries. By allowing myself to be distracted thru conversation with passenger, I missed a critical part in my landing checklist. This has been an expensive and embarrassing lesson, but a lesson well learned.
