Narrative:
Engine stopped in midair and I landed on [a highway] with no incident and called [the] airport for a mechanic and fuel. It was delivered and the tech checked out the motor and found no problem; did find that fuel gauges are incorrect. Added fuel; restarted motor; ran up and tested; found no problems. I took off on highway and went to the airport that was 9 miles away with no problems.
