Narrative:
On turn for taxiway a aircraft was moving at a faster than necessary pace. When instructor told student to brake student did. Power was at idle. Brakes locked up and skidded off taxiway onto grass. Was unable to get wheel back on taxiway due to curb height.

Title: A flight instructor reported that the student pilot taxied a C172 at an accelerated speed and was unable to stop the aircraft before skidding off the taxiway.
