Narrative:
Started takeoff on runway 1R at sfo. Accelerating thru 70 KTS door warning light/master caution light illuminated intermittently. Aborted takeoff, advised tower, stopped aircraft. Light extinguished on its own and after ensuring steering and braking, exited runway and returned to gate. Maintenance inspected doors. They could not duplicate warning light. They pulled door warning circuit breaker and deferred door warning system. Left gate to takeoff again. On runway 1R takeoff roll, accelerating thru 20 KTS, master caution light illuminated, no other warning lights. Reset master caution, illuminated again, aborted takeoff. Advised tower, stopped aircraft. Light extinguished. After ensuring braking and steering returned to gate. Maintenance again could not duplicate problem. With the door warning system deferred, maintenance 'hard failed' door warning system so as to not activate master caution again. Departed ir sfo with no further warning lights.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLT CREW OF SMT HAD WARNING LIGHT ON TWO ATTEMPTS TO TAKE OFF. TWO ABORTS BEFORE SUCCESSFUL TKOF.
Narrative: STARTED TKOF ON RWY 1R AT SFO. ACCELERATING THRU 70 KTS DOOR WARNING LIGHT/MASTER CAUTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. ABORTED TKOF, ADVISED TWR, STOPPED ACFT. LIGHT EXTINGUISHED ON ITS OWN AND AFTER ENSURING STEERING AND BRAKING, EXITED RWY AND RETURNED TO GATE. MAINT INSPECTED DOORS. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE WARNING LIGHT. THEY PULLED DOOR WARNING CIRCUIT BREAKER AND DEFERRED DOOR WARNING SYSTEM. LEFT GATE TO TKOF AGAIN. ON RWY 1R TKOF ROLL, ACCELERATING THRU 20 KTS, MASTER CAUTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED, NO OTHER WARNING LIGHTS. RESET MASTER CAUTION, ILLUMINATED AGAIN, ABORTED TKOF. ADVISED TWR, STOPPED ACFT. LIGHT EXTINGUISHED. AFTER ENSURING BRAKING AND STEERING RETURNED TO GATE. MAINT AGAIN COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. WITH THE DOOR WARNING SYSTEM DEFERRED, MAINT 'HARD FAILED' DOOR WARNING SYSTEM SO AS TO NOT ACTIVATE MASTER CAUTION AGAIN. DEPARTED IR SFO WITH NO FURTHER WARNING LIGHTS.
