Narrative:
Received amended clearance during taxi. ATC advised us to stop on taxiway B so both pilots could copy revised clearance. We were taxiing on one engine (left). Pavement was wet and not grooved. Stopped on B on the east side of the upgrade of the taxiway. Set parking brake and copied clearance. When ready to resume taxi; released parking brake; powered up number 1 engine sufficient for movement. Plane's nose started to drift right. I used tiller to turn back left. Nose skidded further right. Throttle brought to idle. Plane drifted backwards for maybe a linear foot. Brakes were applied. Plane was stopped. Nose wheel was brought to a straight ahead position. Power was added just enough to compensate for the backward pull of gravity; then a slight bit more added to very slowly to move the plane forward. Taxi resumed without incident.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: Flight crew reported that during single engine taxiing uphill in wet conditions on TPA Taxiway B; the aircraft nose wheel slid as thrust was increased to maintain speed. The Captain stopped; realigned the aircraft; and continued taxiing slowly.
