Narrative:
Received notoc (notice to captain) just prior to push back for 4 items of hazmat in the forward cargo compartment. Review of notoc indicated one package of flammable liquid; one package containing lithium ion batteries and two packages containing radioactive material. After some discussion and research of FM part one we called the company cargo question hotline listed on the notoc to question the loading of lithium ion batteries with a flammable liquid. We were told that these two items should not be loaded in the same compartment and we would need to return to the gate to have this corrected. We informed company operations of this requirement and returned to the ramp area to have hazmat removed from the aircraft. Initial personnel indicated the items were loaded behind the passenger luggage and they would have to unload the compartment to gain access to the hazmat. The original crew chief who loaded the hazmat then contacted us by interphone and indicated that the flammable liquid was not on board and had been rejected before loading which would leave us with only the package containing litihium ion batteries and the radioactive material which the hotline personnel indicated was allowed. Being satisfied with this explanation we departed. Upon arrival we observed all 4 hazmat items being unloaded from the forward cargo compartment even after being assured that the flammable liquid was not loaded in our departure airport.

Title: A B737 flight crew reported receiving the HAZMAT NOTOC report which they examined and discovered lithium batteries and flammable liquid in the same cargo compartment. Upon questioning Operations they were told the flammable liquid was removed. Upon arrival; the crew discovered the flammable liquid and lithium batteries were still on board.
