Cruising at FL300; we noticed high engine oil temp on the number 1 engine. Ran QRH procedure and performed and in flight engine shutdown. [Advised ATC of our situation] and continued on to the destination as the nearest suitable airport. Arrival; landing and taxi to the gate were uneventful.
