Narrative:
Climbing out of oakland; oak center gave us syrah after initial takeoff heading. Our filed clearance was OAK8 oak J80 dugal; krost J198 ilc pub J28 gck enl [destination airport]. Our controller pilot data link communication (cpdlc) clearance stated OAK8. This is a revised clearance after ilc cleared to [destination]. This is what our FMC showed for clearance; we printed the clearance; but I did not look at the printed. On climb out norcal gave us syrah ; we went there and then had ilc as our next waypoint. Passed syrah; to ilc passing oca and climbing to FL350 oak center asked what our next waypoint was; we said ilc. He said don't know who gave you that; but cleared direct ilc. We then looked at our printed clearance; and saw on that; cleared to ilc via syrah Q128 jesica Oak8 this is a revised clearance. This does not show up on the FMC screen!!!!! We took photo of clearance as proof it wasn't there on the FMC. This format on the FMC is a problem. This could have been very bad.
