Narrative:
I was cruising at about 2400 ft and 11 miles on 270 radial from lal. I contacted lakeland tower 11 miles out to west. As soon as I did that; a traffic alert showed up with an aircraft 500 ft right below climbing towards my aircraft. I initiated a climbing right turn immediately; but the aircraft's position still showed climbing and 200 ft below my aircraft. I initiated a further steep climbing right turn. As soon as I realized I was at 3000 ft which was the class B shelf; I took immediate corrective action and initiated an immediate descent to remain clear of it. To prevent a recurrence; I would use better situational awareness.
