Narrative:
Approximately 5 minutes after departure climbing through FL190 we got a level 2 'eng 2 oil temp high' alert. We stopped the climb and entered present position holding. We got out the QRH which said to increase power. Since we were already at [max] power that wasn't possible. The initial temp was 170 and was showing amber. The checklist says that if it climbs into the red to shut the engine down. The temp went red; with a max temp of 181; about 2 minutes after the alert came on. We shut the engine down; per the QRH; advised ATC; and got vectors back. We conducted an auto land to an uneventful landing. The fire department looked us over and said they couldn't see any damage so we taxied back to parking.

Title: Air carrier Captain experienced a Level 2 'Eng 2 Oil Temp High' alert passing through FL190 during climb. The aircraft was leveled to work the problem and two minutes later the warning turned red. The engine was shut down and the flight returned to the departure airport.
