Narrative:
Flew to osh. Followed the ripon fisk NOTAM procedure for the arrival. This past week; saw a video of the same arrival and there was mention of ads-B transponders being left on. Reviewed my oshkosh arrival NOTAM and it clearly said that transponders should be switched to standby 30 miles from osh. A friend sent me a copy of his oshkosh arrival NOTAM and it stated that non-ads-B transponders should be switched to standby. Clearly; the FAA had at least two different NOTAMS with conflicting instructions. My aircraft is ads-B equipped and the NOTAM said I should turn my transponder to standby. This needs to be addressed!
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: RV6 pilot reported that there were two versions of the NOTAM concerning transponder procedures during arrival to OSH for AirVenture. One stated transponders were to be off 30 NM from the field and the other stated transponders were to be off unless ADS-B equipped.
