Narrative:
Having departed bvt for cyow, with an en route delay at plb 265033, the flight crew experienced some confusion with the handoff to the military gci controller. The flight crew called ZBW on assigned frequency, notifying the center of arrival at entry point, for a prebriefed intercept flight with niagara falls ANG fgts. Our flight was to fly a track of 4 legs from the plb 265033 direct art, direct art 247043, direct roc 340028, direct syr 305027. Upon arrival at the entry point, ZBW switched us to gci controller. We leveled at FL215 and squawked 1200, and was told by gci to wait until the fgts had finished tanking to commence our track. The controller would notify us when they were ready. After circling at the entry point for approximately 2 mins we were contacted by ZBW on guard, requesting us to come up guard. We did and were immediately notified that we were orbiting outside the operating area with an improper squawk, causing aircraft to be vectored around our position. Just prior to speaking with ZBW, broad said gave us a block altitude from FL190 to FL290. No aircraft were visually spotted as we circled the plb 265033. I believe this situation was caused by a lack of communication between ZBW and the military gci controllers. No evasive action was taken.

Title: MLT ARRIVE EARLY AT START OF IR AND ORBITED OUTSIDE THE MOA WAITING FOR CLRNC FROM MILFAC TO START THE ROUTE.
Narrative: HAVING DEPARTED BVT FOR CYOW, WITH AN ENRTE DELAY AT PLB 265033, THE FLT CREW EXPERIENCED SOME CONFUSION WITH THE HDOF TO THE MIL GCI CTLR. THE FLT CREW CALLED ZBW ON ASSIGNED FREQ, NOTIFYING THE CENTER OF ARR AT ENTRY POINT, FOR A PREBRIEFED INTERCEPT FLT WITH NIAGARA FALLS ANG FGTS. OUR FLT WAS TO FLY A TRACK OF 4 LEGS FROM THE PLB 265033 DIRECT ART, DIRECT ART 247043, DIRECT ROC 340028, DIRECT SYR 305027. UPON ARR AT THE ENTRY POINT, ZBW SWITCHED US TO GCI CTLR. WE LEVELED AT FL215 AND SQUAWKED 1200, AND WAS TOLD BY GCI TO WAIT UNTIL THE FGTS HAD FINISHED TANKING TO COMMENCE OUR TRACK. THE CTLR WOULD NOTIFY US WHEN THEY WERE READY. AFTER CIRCLING AT THE ENTRY POINT FOR APPROX 2 MINS WE WERE CONTACTED BY ZBW ON GUARD, REQUESTING US TO COME UP GUARD. WE DID AND WERE IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED THAT WE WERE ORBITING OUTSIDE THE OPERATING AREA WITH AN IMPROPER SQUAWK, CAUSING ACFT TO BE VECTORED AROUND OUR POS. JUST PRIOR TO SPEAKING WITH ZBW, BROAD SAID GAVE US A BLOCK ALT FROM FL190 TO FL290. NO ACFT WERE VISUALLY SPOTTED AS WE CIRCLED THE PLB 265033. I BELIEVE THIS SITUATION WAS CAUSED BY A LACK OF COM BTWN ZBW AND THE MIL GCI CTLRS. NO EVASIVE ACTION WAS TAKEN.
