Narrative:
While cruising at FL370 north of sbn we received a TCAS TA - traffic; traffic. My first officer and I noticed a yellow target right over the airplane indicating 00 feet on the lower EICAS screen. Shortly thereafter we received an RA - descend; descend. As the flying pilot I immediately complied with the command. At approximately FL365 we received a clear of conflict and climbed back to our altitude of FL370. During the deviation two flight attendant's in the rear galley received neck and back injuries from hitting the ceiling of the AC due to the evasive maneuver caused by the RA command. We weren't sure if the system malfunctioned by the 00 altitude readout but entered it in the maintenance logbook. We reported the RA to cleveland center and we were told there was no traffic in the area.
