Narrative:
I was under control of center on an IFR flight plan and we lost communication. When I realized I was nearing the airport I attempted to contact center with no result. I then contacted the tower and reported [to] center and I had lost contact. They cleared me to land and subsequently had me stop on the runway where I was examined by fire and security personnel. I was released to parking and requested to call the tower. When calling the tower I was informed that center said they tried to contact me with no result and had issued a security alarm. I gave them all requested information and they requested I call center. I gave them all requested information and they informed me it was my responsibility to assure communications.I believe that communication is a joint responsibility and center should have contacted me prior to my leaving their airspace. Correspondingly I should have realized sooner that communication was lost.
