Narrative:
Departing ZZZ; 7;000 feet turf; uphill last 1/3 runway. I; as student pilot; was in the left seat; and my instructor was in the right seat. I was at the controls and applied power; accelerated; and the tail came up; and without any prior indications the plane swerved to the left; and became airborne; and was off the left side of the runway just slightly. As soon as possible; my instructor took control of the plane from me in order to get back straight on the runway; accelerate; and climb. We also raised the gear to reduce drag but a few seconds later; the plane touched the rising turf and slid to a stop; gear up. No injuries.
